Condition Guide

Apart from jewelry, some of the items we sell have been previously loved.

We take great care to clean, examine and restore items if need be, and grade them from New, being in the best condition possible, to Distressed, which might make a great display piece but will not stand the test of wearable time.

Our &Daughters Jewelry is handcrafted and may contain minor imperfections due to human error. We take pride in these imperfections because they reflect the artistry of human hands and support the underprivileged women who create them.

Return & Refund Policy

At Tijori, we curate treasures, not trends. Because our collection features a unique mix of vintage finds and independent labels, our return policy is designed to support the sustainable lifecycle of each garment.

1. Preloved, Vintage, Sample, and Sale Collection

  • Final Sale: Due to the unique nature of preloved, vintage, sale, and sample pieces, these items are Final Sale and ineligible for return or exchange.
  • Transparency: We provide detailed measurements, fabric descriptions, and condition reports to help you shop with confidence.
  • Character: Please note that minor "signs of life" are common in vintage and preloved textiles and often add to the storied character of the piece.

2. New & Independent Designer Labels

If a new item isn't the perfect fit, we accept returns under the following conditions:

  • Timeline: You must contact shop@tijori.com within 3 days of delivery to initiate a return.
  • Return Window: Item(s) must be shipped back with tracking within 7 days of approval.
  • Condition: Items must be returned in their original, unworn condition with all Tijori tags attached.

3. Fees & Processing

To support our small business operations and shipping costs, the following fees apply:

  • Store Credit: Returns for store credit are subject to a 10% processing fee.
  • Original Payment Method: Returns to the original payment method are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
  • Minimum Fee: For items under $60, the fee will be a minimum of the total shipping costs incurred by Tijori.
  • Exclusions: Sale items and "Archive" drops are strictly Final Sale.

4. Our Quality Guarantee

If we have overlooked a significant flaw or there is a major discrepancy in the listing, we will waive all fees and cover return shipping. This is subject to our discretion and does not include standard "wear and tear" expected of preloved items.

About Tijori

Based in Philadelphia and curated by Janki Patel, Tijori is a "treasure chest" of South Asian fashion. Each piece is handpicked to blend heritage with sustainability—from preloved vintage and deadstock finds to independent designer labels and our in-house jewelry line, &DAUGHTERS. We celebrate personal expression over excessive consumerism, giving high-quality textiles a second life.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Check these out & let us know if you have any more questions!

How do I know if an item will fit?

We try to provide detailed garment measurements (Bust, Waist, Length) for our items. We recommend comparing these to a similar piece you already own rather than relying on the tag size, as South Asian sizing varies significantly. If you have any questions, ask in the chat box or email us at shoptijori@gmail.com

Can items be altered?

Many of our vintage and preloved pieces have internal margins for loosening or can be easily taken in by a tailor. Please check the "Condition Report" on the product page for notes on specific garment construction.

What does "Preloved" or "Vintage" actually mean?

These are items that have been previously owned or are from older, "deadstock" archival collections. Each piece is hand-curated by Janki for its quality and "storied character".

How do you grade the condition of items?

We use a strict grading scale: Pristine (like new), Excellent (minimal wear), and Gently Loved (minor, noted flaws). Small imperfections are common in vintage textiles and add to their cultural authenticity.

How is shopping at Tijori "conscious"?

By choosing preloved or deadstock items, you are participating in a circular fashion economy that reduces waste and gives high-quality textiles a second life.

Do you buy clothes or take consignments?

Yes! We love "sharing closets." Please visit our "Sell With Us" page or contact us atshop@tijori.com to learn more about our current curation needs and process.
